I hold a degree in Chemical Engineering and a PhD in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, both from NOVA University of Lisbon. My area of expertise is modelling, monitoring and optimisation of biological processes and data mining for extracting biologically-relevant knowledge from next generation sequencing data. I consider myself as an interdisciplinary researcher, crossing areas such as biochemistry and biology, with aspects of biotechnology, computer science and mathematics.
Currently, I am working on computational tools to extract clinically-relevant mutational signatures from samples with a reduced genomic footprint or without matched normal.
